Service Notice: Changes to Microsoft Stream
Microsoft is shifting from Stream (Classic) and replacing it with a revised service called Stream (on SharePoint).
With this shift, you can now store your videos in any location, (e.g. OneDrive, SharePoint, or Teams) and they will open and play in Stream (on SharePoint). The videos continue to have the same security and advanced control and features.
ACTION:
- There is no immediate action required.
MORE INFO:
- You will now see two tiles for Stream in the Office portal (office365.acadiau.ca). Existing files continue to be access through Stream (Classic).
- Informational messages regarding Stream (on SharePoint) now appear in Stream (Classic).
- Within the next year, your existing Stream files will be migrated. Before that time, you may wish to archive/delete videos that are no longer required. Technology Services will provide a migration timeline as it becomes available.
