Service Notice: Identity Management Day
April 13, 2021 has been declared the inaugural Identity Management Day.
What is Identity Management:
Identity Management practices protect our personal digital identities as we communicate, shop, and transact our daily lives online. At an organizational level, Identity Management practices ensure that the correct people have the right access, to the correct services, at the right time.
Identity Management & Security by the Numbers:
- 79% of organizations have experienced a preventable identity-related security breach in the last two years. [Identity Defined Security Alliance]
- 73% of users use the same password for multiple sites, and 33% of people use the same password every time. (DigiCert)
- 81% of hacking-related breaches leverage weak, stolen, or otherwise compromised credentials. [Verizon Data Breach)
- $51-$72 Billion in losses to the worldwide economy could be eliminated through the proper management and protection of identities. [AIR Worldwide]
ACTION:
For individuals, Identity Management practices reflect strong password hygiene and careful online behavior, including the use of Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication. Use MFA at work, at home, and whenever its offered. To get started at Acadia, follow the Step by Step Guide, watch the Step By Step Video and review the HUB Guides and FAQs.
