Chipman Rose Memorial Award

Acadia Technology Services is pleased to announce the establishment of the Chipman Rose Memorial Award. During the past year over $25,000.00 has been contributed to the fund. The award is to be given, annually, to a female student from the Annapolis Valley, entering Acadia University. The memorial award honours two former Technology Services employees, Lynn Chipman and Kim Rose, both of whom, unfortunately, lost battles with cancer.

“Being able to raise the funds in just over one year speaks volumes to how much Lynn and Kim were adored”, says Gary Meister, who had the opportunity to work with both women during their time at Acadia. Funds for the award were raised through donations from friends, family and co-workers as well as special events such as a fun run and raffle draws.

Lynn and Kim loved their families, enjoyed their work, and displayed an obvious passion for life. When faced with a cancer diagnosis, they fought the disease with a typical positive attitude, living each day to the fullest. The award, established in their names, is intended as a tribute to their lives and the contributions they made to Acadia University. Their legacy will carry on in the lives and careers of the recipients of this award.
