Location: Technology Service Desk, BAC
As the Director of Acadia Technology Services, I strive to support students, faculty and staff in fulfilling the Acadia mission of providing a personalized and rigorous liberal education. I have been in this role since July 2013. Between 1988 and 2013, I managed technology teams in several capacities at StFX University, including in enterprise systems, networks, datacentre operations, helpdesk, and programming. From 1987 until 1988 I was the financial controller for a medium sized seafood company. I have a degree in Business Administration from StFX.
Acadia is a mobile technology campus; we have been ahead in that respect for many years. Students and faculty have their laptops and tablets with them throughout the day, and are noticeably present in every niche and classroom on campus. Classrooms are equipped with presentation systems, where faculty and students have the convenience of being able to use their own computer to display their work. And while we recognize the importance of technology in classrooms and libraries, we also know that Acadia is the place where you live. You will find wireless network access throughout the campus; in residences, classrooms and public spaces. And to ensure your experience is smooth, help is readily available from the Technology Service Desk. Please walk in and visit the friendly service technicians in the BAC, or visit our website at ts.acadiau.ca to find informative articles or log a support request. We look forward to meeting you.
Meeting students and faculty is one of the great privileges of my work. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns to share.
