AUCTC 2017

Acadia Technology Services hosted an extremely successful Atlantic Universities and Colleges Technology Conference (AUCTC).  Early June brought Information Technology Professionals from the Higher Education sector to Wolfville for the event.  Over three days, participants took in industry relevant presentations, networked with other attendees and vendors, and enjoyed several social events.  By all accounts, AUCTC provided a wonderful forum to share experiences, knowledge and develop lasting relationships.  As one delegate said, “The best AUCTC I've been to!”

Conference highlights included a Games Night featuring the Microsoft HoloLens.  David Fraser, Canada’s eminent privacy and technology lawyer opened the conference. The Closing Keynote was provided by Bill Carr, author, actor, humorist, and former Acadia student.  Bill reminded attendees of the importance of taking a moment to pause and reflect while staying true to our mission.  He did it with a great deal of humor and a few tears.

Conference by the numbers…

Delegates: 154
Vendors: 69
Presenters: 36
Cups of Coffee: 1058
Hours of preparation: Innumerable

For further information on the program, please see the Acadia 2017 AUCTC website.  Remember to mark June 4-6, 2018, in your calendar as St. Francis Xavier University is hosting next year’s AUCTC in Antigonish!
